An easier way to use Kafka in Go
About
- xkafka is an open-source library that lets you use Kafka in Go as simply as an HTTP service
- Using the existing confluent-kafka-go required complex processing loops and a lot of boilerplate code, but xkafka lets you focus on core logic with its Handler, Middleware, and Message structure
- Handles message publishing and consumption intuitively, like HTTP requests/responses, and hides much of Kafka's complexity, such as offset management, concurrency settings, and error handling
- Simply supports various patterns required in production services, such as Streaming/Batch processing, sequential/asynchronous processing, and At-most-once/At-least-once guarantees
- Patterns needed in practice, such as hierarchical error handling and middleware-based retries/logging/metrics, can be applied easily
