A series of home video game consoles made by Microsoft, and Microsoft's gaming platform brand covering gaming applications, streaming services, online services, and game development divisions.
Early on, Xbox was a brand referring only to the game consoles, but since 2012 it became a brand encompassing all of Microsoft's entertainment services. However, most of those businesses were later renamed because of name confusion, and it is now used only as the name for services related to Microsoft's gaming business. According to Microsoft's fiscal year 2024 earnings report, it is a huge platform with 500 million gamers participating monthly, a combined figure covering console, PC, mobile, and cloud gaming that use Xbox as their backend platform.
