Windows Forms (WinForms) is the name given to the API included as part of the Microsoft .NET Framework that provides access to native Microsoft Windows interface elements by wrapping the existing Windows API in managed code. It can be seen as a replacement for the earlier, more complex C++-based Microsoft Foundation Class Library, but it does not offer a paradigm comparable to model-view-controller. Some third-party libraries provide this functionality. The most widely used of these is the User Interface Process Application Block.
