This message is sent when a window is destroyed. If the WM_CLOSE message is not handled separately, DefWindowProc calls the DestroyWindow() function to destroy the window. When the window is destroyed, the WM_DESTROY message is sent. A window that receives this message performs cleanup such as closing files it opened and freeing memory it allocated. It is common to write the reverse of the initialization done in WM_CREATE.
