Discards all data in the input/output buffers of the specified communications resource. Also terminates pending input/output operations on the resource.

| PURGE_RXABORT (0x0002) | Terminates all read operations. |
| PURGE_RXCLEAR (0x0008) | Clears the input buffer. |
| PURGE_TXABORT (0x0001) | Terminates all write operations. |
| PURGE_TXCLEAR (0x0004) | Clears the output buffer. |
