Web syndication refers to automatically distributing a website's content externally in the form of XML files. Through this technology, users can easily receive web content without the burden of visiting sites periodically, and web content providers can combine various content to create new content. Because it keeps web content from being locked inside a particular site, Web syndication can be seen as a core technology implementing the 'openness' characteristic of Web 2.0.
