Web Open Font Format

The Web Open Font Format (WOFF) is a font format for use in web pages. It was developed in 2009 and is being standardized as a recommended web font format by the W3C Web Fonts Working Group.

In April 2010, following the WOFF standardization proposal by the Mozilla Foundation, Opera Software, and Microsoft, the W3C commented that it expected it to soon become the "single, interoperable format" supported by all browsers.
