Serverless Pure HTML/JS Notepad
A local native notepad application that runs entirely in the web browser without a server.
Features
- No-install local environment: built with pure HTML/JS/CSS. Just double-click index.html to run offline immediately under both file:// and http://.
- Native file system integration: overwrite-save with Ctrl+S via the File System Access API. Automatically falls back to Blob download when blocked.
- Auto-Syntax highlighting: built on the CodeMirror 6 engine. Recognizes 100+ languages automatically through ESM dynamic loading.
- Unlimited background saving: based on IndexedDB (localForage), breaking the 5MB limit. Safely keeps even gigabyte-sized documents.
- ⌨️ Vim mode: includes @replit/codemirror-vim. Normal/Insert/Visual modes, :w (save), :wq (save+close). OFF by default, toggle ON.
- File drag & drop: drag a text file from the file explorer directly into the browser to open it immediately in a new tab.
- Markdown Floating TOC: in Markdown mode, automatically generates a table of contents on the right based on h1–h6 headings. Click to jump to that position.
- Local time machine: automatically snapshots the last 10 revisions per tab on save. Stored in IndexedDB.
- Advanced editor UX: multiple tabs (reorder by dragging), 5 custom themes, minimap, zen mode, reopen closed tabs, floating search, Word Wrap toggle.
- 5-language i18n: full UI support for Korean, English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese.
- Hardened security: pinned SRI hashes, DOMPurify XSS defense, DOM-XSS prevention. Passed 6 rounds of AI cross-audits.
