Wallpaper Engine is an application for Windows that lets users use and create animated, interactive wallpapers, similar to the now-defunct Windows DreamScene. Wallpapers are shared as user-created downloadable content through the Steam Workshop. It uses its own rendering engine and provides a wallpaper editor that includes a particle system editor and a JavaScript fork called SceneScript for additional wallpaper logic, so 2D and 3D wallpapers can be created. It also supports using video files, audio files, web pages, and some 3D applications as wallpapers.
