A tool for running remote shell scripts more safely
About
- vet is a CLI tool that safely turns
curl | bash-style execution of remote install scripts into a "download → review → approve execution" process - Provides step-by-step defenses such as viewing script changes (diff), shellcheck-based linting (static analysis), and manual approval (run after confirmation)
- With a single command (vet https://example.com/install.sh)), remote scripts can be automatically checked for potential risks, tampering, typos, and vulnerabilities before execution
- Its own installation also supports both the "download then review" method and the "curl | sh" method, and vet's own install code can be inspected directly
- A highly reliable solution that achieves both prevention of security risks in development/operations environments and automation/convenience
