Vector Markup Language (VML) is an XML-based file format for two-dimensional vector graphics.
VML is specified in Part 4 of the Office Open XML standard ISO/IEC 29500 and in ECMA-376. According to the specification, VML is considered a format that was raised as an issue in Office Open XML for legacy reasons.[1][2]
VML is used in Microsoft Office 2007 and later documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint documents).
