The second title in Epic Games' Unreal series of FPS games, released on November 22, 1999. Together with Quake III Arena, released around the same time, it showed the essence of the hyper FPS in the late 1990s. Epic Games handled overall development, and Digital Extremes helped create some maps and graphics resources.
