UnNetHack

A variant of the roguelike game NetHack. Its version number continues on from that of the original NetHack, whose development had stopped. The latest stable version is currently 5.2.0. Unlike SlashEM, it borrows the "good parts" of various variants without breaking the overall framework of the original. This is also open-source software.
It was the most active of the NetHack variants under development... but after the main game finally got a version bump to 3.6 after a long time, this version, based on 3.4.3, lost popularity. Updates have not stopped, but as the various convenience features and balance adjustments that were UnNetHack's strengths began to be ported to the main game, its distinctiveness from the main game has clearly faded. Many say it is generally harder than the original NetHack.
