In mathematics, especially linear algebra, the transpose of a matrix (transposed matrix) is obtained by turning the columns of the original matrix into rows and the rows into columns. For a square matrix, the transpose can be obtained by swapping elements that are symmetric about the main diagonal running from the top left to the bottom right of the matrix.
