A trademark is a mark used to identify goods; simply put, it is the visual image that symbolizes the product. It is a subordinate concept of a brand.

English terms include trademark, registered trademark, brand mark, logo, etc. The English abbreviation is ™. A registered trademark that has been registered with a government agency such as a patent office carries the ® mark. Usually, if ™ or ® appears near a product name or design, it means that the text or design is a trademark of that product (and the company that produced it).

It can be seen as a kind of proper noun that identifies each supplier's goods in a market economy. Before capitalist economies became systematized, awareness that each supplier's goods must be distinguished was lacking, so imitating other suppliers' goods was common. Because such imitation discourages suppliers from improving quality, today the concept of trademark rights exists to protect the uniqueness of trademarks.

Korean: 로고 (logo) was made into a separate page, judging it from the visual design side.
