Tertiary sector of the economy

The tertiary sector, or tertiary industry, mainly provides services to people, and includes transportation, commerce, international trade, tourism, and so on. It also refers to service industries such as transport, communications, finance, insurance, distribution, and others. In general, in developed countries the tertiary sector develops in balance with the secondary sector. It is also called the service industry.
