Taylor's theorem is one of the important theorems of elementary real analysis and can be seen as a generalization of the mean value theorem to derivatives of arbitrary order n. The last term of Taylor's theorem for finitely many terms has a special form; for an infinitely differentiable function, if this term can be eliminated as terms keep being added, the expansion form of Taylor's theorem becomes the Taylor series.
