- Tangled is a Git collaboration platform with social features built on the AT Protocol, designed so that developers keep full ownership of their code while open-source communities can govern themselves
- Adopts a decentralized code collaboration architecture that combines the strengths of the existing ActivityPub (Forgejo)-centric federated model and Radicle's fully P2P model
- The core concept, the ‘Knot’, is a lightweight headless Git server that supports both individual self-hosting and community-level multi-tenant setups
- The App View (tangled.sh) provides a unified view of repositories across the whole network, making it seamless to browse, clone, and contribute to repositories on different Knots
- Currently in beta; its core principles are data ownership, a low barrier to entry, and preserving the user experience, and it aims to build a fully open, decentralized Git ecosystem in the future
