The ln command cannot be used with Samba or FTP for security reasons, so use mount instead.

mkdir /volume2/share/music
sudo mount --bind /volume1/music /volume2/share/music

Edit the /etc/crontab file.

For example:

#minute hour    mday    month   wday    who command
0   0   1   *   *   root    /usr/syno/bin/syno_disk_health_record
0   4   *   *   0,3 root    /usr/syno/bin/synoschedtask --run id=1
0   0   13  *   *   root    /usr/syno/bin/synoschedtask --run id=2

When you are done editing, restart crond with the following command.

DSM 5.0 and later

$ synoservicectl --restart crond

DSM 5.0 and earlier

$ synoservice -restart crond

Finally, open Task Scheduler in the admin console (Control Panel) and configure it.

Troubleshooting

Permission Denied when connecting via SSH

It turns out you need administrator privileges to connect via SSH. Without administrator privileges, sftp works.
