Structured light is a method of measuring the shape and depth of a 3D object by projecting a pattern of light onto the object's surface. The pattern can take the form of stripes, a grid, or dots. The distortion of the projected pattern reveals the object's three-dimensional shape through triangulation, which makes it possible to generate a 3D model of the object.
