Snapcraft (snapcraft), or Snappy, is a software deployment and package management system developed by Canonical, which began by designing and building it for the Ubuntu phone operating system. It is also supported in internet environments.
The packages, called snaps, and the tool for using them, snapd, work across a range of Linux distributions, enabling the packaging of upstream software that is otherwise difficult to distribute. The system is designed to work for the internet of things, cloud, and desktop computing.
