Smartglasses, or smart glasses, are wearable computers worn on the eyes or head that provide useful functions to the user. Many smartglasses include a display that adds information alongside what the wearer sees. Alternatively, smartglasses are defined as glasses that can change their optical properties. For example, there are smart sunglasses programmed to change their tint by electronic means. In other cases, smartglasses are defined as glasses that include headphone functionality.
If smart glasses perform pose tracking, they can be considered augmented reality (AR) devices.
