In mathematics, a series is the sum of the terms of a sequence. In other words, a series is expressed as an addition of many numbers. An example of a series is the sum of an arithmetic sequence, such as the following.
- 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + ... + 99 + 100
The terms added in a series may be expressed by some formula or algorithm. A series made up of random numbers can also be considered.
