Python IDE with built-in real-time visualization
Features
- Dynamic visualization: Scripton supports real-time visualization directly from Python scripts. No notebook, server, or browser needed. Visualizations are shown in dedicated tabs within the IDE.
- Integrated plotting toolkit: includes a built-in plotting toolkit that exposes the capabilities of Plotly and Observable Plot directly to Python. No installation needed; it is automatically available when running in Scripton.
- Real-time visualization for science and engineering: Scripton combines high-performance inter-process communication with GPU-accelerated rendering to deliver real-time visualization. Visualizing matrices such as 2D NumPy arrays and PyTorch tensors is simple.
- Built-in graphics toolkit: Scripton's canvas API provides a fast and powerful 2D raster graphics API. Output appears in real time in a dedicated tab within the IDE.
- Interactivity prototypes: Scripton's UI toolkit makes it easy to add interactivity to scripts. Sliders and buttons can update the user interface dynamically.
- Rich REPL: Scripton includes a unique Python REPL that is a natural extension of the coding environment. Provides features such as autocompletion, multi-line editing, and multi-cursor support.
- Simple, fast debugging: debugging in Scripton is simple. Just set breakpoints and run. No special setup needed.
- Support for many third-party libraries: supports various third-party libraries such as Matplotlib, Seaborn, PyTorch, Pandas, PIL, and OpenCV. The output of each library is shown within the IDE.
- Serious work and fun exploration: designed to meet a range of needs, from research and industrial applications to creative exploration.
- System requirements: currently supported only on macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel-based models). Windows and Linux support planned. Requires Python 3.8 or later. Supports various Python environment managers.
