About
- Spectral Labs released SGS-1, the first generative AI model for generating structured CAD (B-Rep)
- SGS-1 takes an image or 3D mesh as input and generates an easily editable parametric CAD file
- Compared with existing models such as GPT-5 and HoLa BRep, SGS-1 generates more accurate and more diverse complex shapes
- Enables automated reverse engineering, automatically converting various inputs such as sketches, engineering drawings, and STL into STEP files
- Still limited in generating organic surfaces or full assemblies, but further improvements such as multimodality and physical reasoning are planned in the next-generation model
