A robot (called roboteu in North Korean usage) is a mechanical device programmed to perform various tasks automatically. It is a mechanical device that is operated by a program (programmable) and carries out, in place of people, a complex series of actions that are difficult, complicated, and dangerous for people to perform directly.
Automated robots that perform assembly, welding, handling, and so on in manufacturing plants such as automobile production lines are called industrial robots, and robots that perceive their environment and make decisions on their own are called 'intelligent robots'. There are also food-tech robots (cafeteria robots) that do cooking in place of people in school cafeterias and similar places. A robot that resembles a human is called an 'android'.
In another sense, it is also described as a machine that has a physical form and the ability to think for itself. Robots that use artificial power work in place of people or together with them. Robots are usually designed to do the work their makers planned. The term 'robot' spread into general use after the Czechoslovak playwright Karel Čapek used it in the play "R.U.R", published in 1920. The word robot comes from the Czech robota, meaning "labor", "slave", or "hard, monotonous work".
The toy robots we know are actually not robots but toys, because they are moved manually.
