About
- The revival of Pebble
- Pebble is an e-paper smartwatch with simple features, long battery life, and a fun design.
- First launched on Kickstarter in 2012, it sold more than 2 million watches, and its intellectual property was sold to Fitbit in 2016.
- A new team has been formed to bring Pebble back and is developing a new smartwatch based on PebbleOS.
- Google came to own PebbleOS when it acquired Fitbit, and recently released PebbleOS as open source.
- The PebbleOS source code can now be downloaded, modified, and improved on GitHub.
- This was made possible thanks to the support of the Rebble team and community, and there is active community activity on r/Pebble and Discord.
- PebbleOS can be used on existing Pebble watches and can also run on other embedded devices.
- You can also build new hardware and use PebbleOS on it.
