A raw image file is an image file format that contains minimally processed data from the image sensor of a digital camera or image scanner. Raw files are, as the English word says, completely unprocessed, meaning they are not ready to be used with a bitmap graphics editor or for printing. White balance, parameters, color space, and so on are not fixed; the file holds only information about the intensity of light detected by the imaging medium. The term RAW is sometimes used instead of Raw, which stems from the mistaken belief that it represents a single file extension, .RAW. In fact, raw image formats use various extensions depending on the vendor or digital camera manufacturer.

RAW 9100

RAW 9100: some printers support only a non-standard method of plain TCP/IP connection. Products in this category include early JetDirect models. Basically, to print to these printers, you make a TCP connection to the specific port 9100 and send the print job data.

Among the port numbers used in Windows, it is defined as follows.

  • pdl-datastream 9100/tcp Printer PDL Data Stream
  • pdl-datastream 9100/udp Printer PDL Data Stream
