A modern Markdown-based typesetting system
About
- A modern typography system that extends standard Markdown syntax so you can easily produce documents in many formats, such as books, papers, slides and presentations
- Builds advanced features such as functions, variables, conditionals/loops and a standard library directly into Markdown, setting it apart from standard Markdown or LaTeX in extensibility and automation
- Can produce several outputs from one source file, such as HTML, PDF, slides (reveal.js) and paged books (paged.js); specialized for code-based content creation
- Scripting features and expressive extended syntax let you freely build complex or dynamic content
- Provides a REPL, live preview and fast compilation, so documents can be edited and debugged in real time
- Compared with existing tools, it has strengths over Markdown, LaTeX, Typst, AsciiDoc and MDX in scripting features, document control, an easy learning curve and so on
- Works on all major operating systems with only Java 17 or later, without a separate development environment or complex setup
