An in-process PostgreSQL built on SQLite
About
- An in-memory embedded database that compiles PostgreSQL SQL directly into SQLite bytecode
- Designed for the surging demand for ephemeral, small-scale databases in AI agent environments
- Uses Turso, a from-scratch reimplementation of SQLite in Rust, as its engine,
- and adopts PostgreSQL's actual parser (libpg_query) as is, securing 100% syntax compatibility
- Generated data files are in the standard SQLite 3.x .db format and can be opened as is with existing SQLite tools
- Switches dynamically between PostgreSQL and SQLite syntax at the connection level, allowing a single database to be accessed with both syntaxes at the same time
- Adopts an architecture fundamentally different from existing approaches that compile PostgreSQL to WebAssembly or embed it
