Perplexity.ai, or Perplexity AI, is an AI-based research and conversational search engine that answers queries using natural language predictive text. Launched in 2022, Perplexity generates answers using web sources and cites links within its text responses. Perplexity operates on a freemium model.

Perplexity launches the Deep Research feature, which performs in-depth research and analysis while saving time
- Runs dozens of searches for the user's question, reads hundreds of sources, reasons through them logically, and delivers a comprehensive report
- Can perform a variety of expert-level tasks in finance, marketing, technical research, and more, and scored highly on Humanity’s Last Exam
- Deep Research is free for all users, and Pro subscribers can use it without limits
- Non-subscribers can use only a limited number of answers per day. Currently available on the web, with iOS, Android, and Mac coming soon
- To use Deep Research, select "Deep Research" in the mode selector of the search box on perplexity.ai and enter your question
