Optimistic UI (Optimistic-UI) is a mental model. It does not refer to a form of interface. It is a model in which, while rendering the UI during communication with an API, everything is viewed optimistically and the UI is rendered first.

To restate: Optimistic UI means assuming every API call will succeed and rendering the result on screen first.
