Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) is a free and open-source streaming and recording program maintained by the OBS Project. It supports Windows 7 or later, macOS 10.8 or later, and Linux Ubuntu 14.04 or later.
Overview
Open Broadcaster Software is a free and open-source software suite for recording and live streaming. Written in C and C++, OBS provides real-time source and device capture, scene composition, encoding, recording, and broadcasting. Data transfer is mainly done via the Real-Time Messaging Protocol, and it can send to any RTMP-supporting destination (e.g. YouTube), including many presets for streaming websites such as Twitch and Dailymotion.
For video encoding, OBS can encode video streams into the H.264/MPEG-4 AVC and H.265/HEVC formats using the x264 free software library, Intel Quick Sync Video, NVIDIA NVENC, and the AMD Video Coding Engine. It can encode using the MP3 or AAC codecs. Advanced users can choose any codec available in Libavcodec / FFmpeg and output the stream to any FFmpeg URL.

Troubleshooting
Why it doesn't launch after the first run on Ubuntu 22.04
After installing with snap, the first run works fine, but it fails to launch from the second run on.
Type obs-studio on the command line. The following log is printed:
info: [obs-face-tracker] save_load_ft_docks saving=0
info: [adv-ss] trying to reconnect to in 10 seconds.
info: ------------------------------------------------
info: Loaded scenes:
info: - scene 'Scene':
info: - scene 'Vertical Scene':
info: ------------------------------------------------
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
It's a segfault, so the actual fix is unknown for now. Deleting all files in ~/snap/obs-studio/1302/.config/obs-studio made it work.
Or run it in Safe Mode.
