- Based on Next.js + TailwindCSS, with real-time preview in the browser and direct DOM editing
- Aims to be an open-source alternative to commercial services such as Bolt, Lovable, V0, Replit Agent, Figma Make, and Webflow

- Instantly generates Next.js apps from text/images - Figma import, templates, etc. planned
- Figma-like UI for page creation, asset and token management, and real-time preview
- Real-time code editor, checkpoint save and restore, command execution via CLI, marketplace integration
- Supports visual manipulation such as drag-and-drop, Tailwind style editing, and layout experiments
- Real-time editing / comments / share links / custom domains planned
- Web-based, but also integrates with the desktop app (Onlook Desktop)
Architecture and how it works
- When an app is created, its code is loaded into a web container and executed
- The preview link is shown in the editor as an iFrame, with mapping between code and UI
- An AI chatbot supports code access and editing, and can understand and modify the code directly
- Extensible to various frameworks that use a declarative DOM, such as JSX/TSX/HTML
