n0's new Rust-based QUIC implementation

About

  • noq, developed by the n0 team, is a general-purpose QUIC implementation written in Rust that supports multipath and NAT traversal
  • Developed by moving to an independent codebase to overcome the limits of iroh's existing Quinn-based architecture
  • Includes a range of features such as QUIC Multipath, NAT Traversal, Address Discovery, QLog extensions, and WeakConnectionHandle
  • In production use since iroh v0.96, with interoperability testing against picoquic also completed
  • Plans to keep collaborating with the QUIC working group and the Quinn team, and to grow into a foundational technology for developers of Rust-based network applications
