The Wii (/wiː/) is a home video game console developed and sold by Nintendo. It was released in North America on November 19, 2006, and in most other regions of the world in December 2006. It is Nintendo's fifth major home console, following the Nintendo GameCube, and belongs to the seventh generation of consoles along with Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Sony's PlayStation 3.
