Architected for speed. Automated for easy. Monitoring and troubleshooting, transformed!

Tired of Datadog bills? Worn out from setting up and maintaining Prometheus and Grafana? Try Netdata now! Feel the pulse of your infrastructure with high-resolution metrics, journal logs, and real-time visualization.

Netdata is a partially open-source tool designed to collect real-time metrics such as CPU usage, disk activity, bandwidth usage, and website visits, and display them in easy-to-interpret real-time charts.

About

Netdata is an open-source monitoring tool that provides real-time distributed monitoring without any special configuration.

It collects thousands of data points in real time from systems, hardware, containers, and applications, and runs permanently on physical/virtual servers and containers, cloud environments, IoT devices, and more.

It can be installed without sudo privileges not only on most Linux distributions but also on container platforms such as Kubernetes and Docker, and on MacOS.

Netdata has the following features.

  • No configuration needed
  • No maintenance needed
  • Minimal disk I/O and memory usage. Only 1% CPU of a single core
  • Fast, interactive visualization

Install

wget -O /tmp/netdata-kickstart.sh https://my-netdata.io/kickstart.sh && sh /tmp/netdata-kickstart.sh

Docker

docker run -d --name=netdata \
  --pid=host \

How to access

## 서비스 상태 확인:
sudo systemctl status netdata

## 서비스 시작:
sudo systemctl start netdata

## 서비스 자동 시작 설정:
sudo systemctl enable netdata

By default, Netdata provides a web interface at http://localhost:19999. Open that address in a browser to monitor the system status in real time.

Uninstall

sudo apt remove netdata

Netdata agent setup (optional)

When managing many servers, you can monitor multiple agent servers through a central management server. Netdata provides distributed monitoring on its own, and a central server can collect and manage data from other Netdata agents.

  • Details on agent monitoring setup can be found in the Netdata official documentation.

Additional notes

  • Netdata is a very lightweight tool by default and uses few resources.
  • Through various plugins and APIs, you can set up additional monitoring metrics or custom alerts.
