Mozilla is a free software community formed in 1998, centered on the Netscape team of the US company AOL. It developed the Firefox web browser, Thunderbird email, the Bugzilla bug tracker, and more. Its logo is Godzilla from the Japanese monster films. One explanation is that Mozilla is a blend of the Mosaic web browser and Godzilla; another is that it is short for Mosaic Killer. In 2003, led by the Mozilla community, the non-profit Mozilla Foundation was established.
