Remote terminal application that allows roaming, supports intermittent connectivity, and provides intelligent local echo and line editing of user keystrokes.
Mosh is a replacement for interactive SSH terminals. It's more robust and responsive, especially over Wi-Fi, cellular, and long-distance links.
Mosh is free software, available for GNU/Linux, BSD, macOS, Solaris, Android, Chrome, and iOS.
Features
- An open-source SSH alternative app that keeps the connection alive even when the IP changes or on reconnection
- Logs in over SSH with the existing authentication method, then runs mosh-server remotely and connects over UDP
- Does not use a network buffer, so Ctrl-C always works quickly
- Unlike SSH, which waits for the server's response, responds quickly without network lag
- On Windows, use Mosh for Chrome or the Cygwin version
