Measurement is the operation of quantifying the amount of a thing against a fixed standard. Measurement compares by setting a unit. It is mostly done with measuring equipment such as rulers and scales, which are marked with graduations for comparison against standards of weights and measures.
In the sciences, where precise measurement is required, a measured value is expressed using the measured value, the margin of error, and the confidence level.
