Manufacturing is the industry that processes raw materials using human labor, machine power, and various other forces to mass-produce and supply products. Together with mining and construction, it is one of the major fields that make up the secondary sector. It includes not only industrial products such as home appliances and automobiles, but also the industries that make the lunch boxes and juices sold at convenience stores. It is similar to industry in general in that it produces products by processing raw materials using human labor, machine power, and various other forces, but manufacturing is necessarily limited to mass production.
