Metal as a Service (MAAS) brings the language of the cloud to physical servers. It makes it easy to set up the hardware on which to deploy any service that needs to scale up and down dynamically; a cloud being just one example.

MAAS is a server management tool for managing physical server infrastructure through a web interface. It makes it easy to add and configure hardware in an OpenStack Cloud environment.

How to install

Install as follows.

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:maas/stable
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install maas

If the server does not have a static IP, you must install NAAS DHCP as follows.

$ sudo apt-get install maas-dhcp maas-dns

After installation, accessing http://127.0.0.1/MAAS1 shows a message asking you to create an administrator account.

$ sudo maas-region-admin createadmin

Boot image

You need to download a base image for creating machines. Go to MAAS/IMAGES and IMPORT Ubuntu automatically.

If it is not added properly, you have to resolve it with the command-line interface2.

## 웹 인터페이스에 로그인한 후 Account 페이지에서 MAAS Key를 확인할 수 있다.
## 사용법: maas login <profile-name> <hostname> <key>
$ maas login my-profile http://10.98.0.13/MAAS/ AWSCRMzqMNy:jjk...5e1FenoP82Qm5te2
$ maas my-profile boot-resources import
## 만약 정상적으로 설치되지 않을 경우 sudo를 사용하여 관리자 권한으로 설치하면 된다.
