Ultra-fast ls based on io_uring
About
- lsr is a new ls(1) replacement built with ourio, an io_uring-based IO library
- Runs commands much faster than the existing ls and alternative tools (eza, lsd, uutils ls), with more than 10x fewer system calls
- Maximizes performance by handling all major IO, such as opening directories, stat, and lstat, asynchronously and in batches through io_uring. The more files, the faster it is
- Uses Zig's StackFallbackAllocator to minimize mmap calls during memory allocation
- Built statically without dynamic linking, so even the executable is smaller than the existing ls
