LSB

LSB means: The lsb_release command prints certain LSB (Linux Standard Base) and Distribution infomation.

Checking the Linux distribution

• Bash command to determine Ubuntu version number

lsb_release -r | awk '{print $2}'

Or check it as follows.

cat /etc/*-release | grep -E '^ *NAME *='
