Live streaming refers to applying streaming technology to broadcast live, transmitting video from devices such as DV cameras over a computer network. A person who does this is called a streamer. Non-live media such as video on demand and YouTube videos are technically streamed, but they are not live streaming.
Live streaming covers a wide range of topics, from social media to video games (live gameplay).
