Iron (鐵) is a chemical element with the symbol Fe (from Latin: Ferrum) and atomic number 26. Iron is the final element produced by nuclear fusion, and the heaviest element that does not require a cataclysmic event such as a supernova. It is therefore the most widespread heavy metal in the universe. Iron is also one of the metals humanity uses most, in many fields such as vehicles, ships, aircraft, houses, artificial skeletons, and all kinds of household goods, which makes it an indispensable metal for humankind.
