Integration testing

Integration testing (Integration Test) is a method of testing software that has passed unit testing by combining it step by step. Modules that have passed unit testing are integrated into larger aggregates, and tests are then performed according to the integration test plan. Module aggregates that pass integration testing are handed over as test targets for the system testing stage.

Purpose

The purpose of integration testing is to verify that the major design items properly implement the functional, performance, and reliability requirements.

The "design items", that is, the integrated groups of modules, are tested with black-box testing techniques that feed normal input data or abnormal, erroneous input data into their exposed interfaces.

About

Integration Testing is a software testing approach that combines and tests various application components or modules to evaluate how well they work together. Integration Testing helps confirm that these assembled parts can communicate with each other and interact successfully.

The concept of Integration Testing raises a few questions. The first is whether Integration Testing is needed. The answer depends, at least in part, on the company in question. Organizations with limited interaction with the public may not need Integration Testing.

However, for any business that works extensively with the public, Integration Testing is becoming increasingly important. For technology companies that release new software applications and tools, Integration Testing is even more important.
