Subfields of integrated development environments

An integrated development environment (統合開発環境, Integrated Development Environment, IDE) is software that provides an environment for handling every task related to program development, such as coding, debugging, compiling, and deployment, within a single program. In traditional software development, compilers, text editors, debuggers, and so on were used separately. An integrated development environment bundles these programs into one and provides an interactive interface. Many recent integrated development environments (IDEs) are rapid development tools for building graphical user interface (GUI) applications.
