An institution is a system of norms, such as customs, morals, and laws, or of social structure. Among institutions, those actually accepted or supported in a society are called social institutions.
Social institutions
Social institutions are organized practices and procedures that guide social behavior in a certain direction. As the basic framework humans need to live socially, they are common to all societies. They also organize individual activities to achieve the goals of society and perform functions essential to raising future generations.
