Information graphics, infographics, or news graphics are visual representations of information, data, or knowledge. They differ from ordinary pictures or photos in that they convey information concretely, on the surface, and practically. They are used in signs, maps, technical documents, and other places where complex information must be explained quickly and clearly. Infographics include charts, fact boxes, maps, diagrams, flowcharts, logos, calendars, illustrations, and television program schedules.
